A rich green belt runs throughout the central Bellville area, stretching from Elizabeth Park and the Haardekraaltjie sports precinct in the east, through Tielman Marais Park and connecting with Jack Muller Park, before leading under the N1 highway into the Magick Forest and the green belt behind Willowbridge Shopping Centre. This green chain offers quality public spaces for people to run, walk, play and meet. The GTP is spearheading a process of ensuring that the public spaces are well maintained and kept safe and clean, with help from its partners at the City of Cape Town, as well as civic Friends groups.
