Public Art

Public art has an important role to play in developing a unique urban identity and using creativity as a tool to encourage social cohesion. Beautiful art can deter negative behaviour, enhance a sense of place and improve the image of urban centres. Supported by a public art audit in public and private buildings, this project considers high impact locations for public art and commissions three new murals and one sculpture in Bellville in Parow.
