BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
Coffee culture is a magnet for people living, working and studying in modern cities. A landmark disused flower seller’s kiosk presented an opportunity to bring great coffee into the centre of Bellville. The structure was vacant and had become an anti-social eyesore. At first, it was earmarked for demolition, but the GTP seized the chance to retain a Bellville landmark. We converted it into an express coffee bar and information kiosk with a safe, well-lit meeting area.
Local architects Grow Architecture designed the space, incorporating natural elements to create an attractive and modern coffee-on-the-go environment servicing the many pedestrians and businesses in the area.
A year later, building on the success of the kiosk, we launched GTP Express On the Move, a food truck which is available for hire at events. In addition, we’re planning to install other GTP Express outlets throughout Bellville and Parow.
