PLEASE SUPPORT OUR LOCAL FOOD DRIVE
Leonora Fransman is an ordinary woman who lives in a modest home in Eerste River. In April, she met a man who had lost his job. He was with his wife and two children, living in an underprivileged community in Cape Town. They hadn’t eaten for two days and were asking for Leonora’s help. In response, she cleared out her cupboards and gave him whatever she could. When she arrived at his home, she saw the extent of the need in his neighbourhood. She rallied for support through her own channels, calling for donations to help support her food drive. Since then, with the help of a neighbour, Leonora has been cooking big pots of steaming hot stews every day and distributing them to needy families and children.
We’ve been supporting Leonora with this initiative since June. To date, we have collected and donated nearly 1.5 tons of food to Leonora’s kitchen, feeding nearly 1 500 people a week, with limited resources. We need to keep going, to keep supporting Leonora, to keep feeding hungry children.
In the same way that Leonora rose up to help her community, we’re asking you to rise up to help her in turn.
We’ve set up a Backabuddy campaign to support the project. Please donate whatever you can – no matter how small. Every little bit helps. If you’d like to donate food rather than funds, please contact .
