BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The GTP is developing an online learning portal designed to bring new skills, new knowledge and new economic potential to Bellville. The GTP Academy will enable individuals from disadvantaged economic environments to access valuable online learning at no or minimum charge. The Academy will provide access to relevant materials focused on creating jobs and developing crucial skills for entrepreneurs and businesses. Courses offered include, among others:

• Entrepreneurial skills
• Human resources
• Sustainable practices
• Business mentorship
• Marketing and sales training
• Financial readiness
• Pitch training
• Access to investors and funders

The GTP Academy will provide a valuable online learning platform that will accelerate the learning process for individuals, businesses, entrepreneurs and training companies. The portal will comprise interactive online content, provided by experienced content producers, with tests, workshops, webinars and a community function to share knowledge, information and create opportunities. The portal will enable staff within businesses to enhance their technology skills, upskill them on basic business requirements as well as create opportunities for accessing funding and markets.

The Academy will attract a wide audience for greater impact. The online platform is also aimed at upskilling entrepreneurs, enhancing business skills and innovation and creating a like-minded community.
