Legend wants us to believe that the British Royal Family (including Princess Elizabeth) visited the Cape and Bellville years ago and donated Crown property along Voortrekker Road to the then Bellville Municipality, hence the name.

Elizabeth Park

The Park received a facelift when it underwent upgrades valued at R1,5million in 2013. The project was planned in consultation with the relevant local stakeholders and included fencing the entire park, construction of a retaining wall to eliminate problem vagrant areas, placement of park benches and installation of an irrigation system. Existing pathways have been upgraded and grass and trees planted. This park provides a much-needed green space in a built-up area and it is important to ensure that it is a safe space before further investments into this park can take place.

Elizabeth Park is a hidden gem well known as a perfect location to capture beautiful memories. Most locals either took their wedding pictures (photos) in the park or at least know of a family member or friend who did.
