To ensure the sustainability of the Dunatos food garden project, the GTP facilitated the implementation of a composting initiative which aimed to build awareness about home composting and the food cycle. A demonstration was held at the school where learners and teachers were given a step by step guide on how to make use of the bokashi composting technique in their own homes.

The compost created using the technique will be used at Dunatos food garden to ensure that the vegetable patches have an ongoing supply of compost for seasons to come.
