In the run-up to Christmas, there has never been a better time to show your support for less fortunate members of our community.

Leveraging off the remarkable success of the first one in 2017, the GTP is hosting the next Street Store in Bellville on Friday 14 December 2018.

Last year was Cape Town’s most successful Street Store, with 750kgs of clothing collected and services provided for 175 homeless people. Read more about this exciting project.

The GTP is challenging Bellville to activate its typical Capetonian generosity, to try and top that success. The one-day Street Store will pop up along Voortrekker Road in the Bellville CBD as a rent-free, zero-cost, pop-up clothes shop for homeless people, stocked with items donated by local businesses and individuals. The idea is to restore dignity to the homeless by giving a hand up, rather than a hand out. This year’s Street Store is again supported by MES, VRCID, TASP, local law enforcement and others. This is a notable opportunity for the Bellville to come together to show they care.

You can get involved by dropping off your donations at any of the following collections points:

  • Bellville Library
  • DF Malan High School
  • Spar Bellville
  • Die Handelshuis
  • VW Volkswagen Parow
  • OK Oakdale
  • The Settlers High School
  • GTP office at Bellpark Building, Corner De Lange and Durban Road, Bellville.
