The second phase of the Art in Action mural art project has begun. The main aim of the Art in Action Mural Art project  is upliftment of the community.

The first phase was a great success resulting in murals from Jack Fox, Chris Auret, Freddy Sam and See Saw Do. Their murals were completed over the course of July and August last year. After meeting with building owners, traders, and passersby in the Station Arcade, they painted four very different, very exciting artworks showing their interpretation of the theme “Celebrating Diversity – Celebrating Our People”.

From the 19th of January the second phase of the Art in Action project will take place. Street artist Conform will be first up starting with the first wall on 31 Station Road at Cobbler’s Den. Conform, born Wayne Beukes, is an illustrator, graphic designer and street artist based in Cape Town. He was born in Mitchell’s Plain and takes his inspiration from his childhood there.

The theme for the second phase of the Art in Action project is still “Celebrating Diversity – Celebrating Our People”. Be sure to check out his work as it progresses and get involved with street art in Cape Town!
